Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly the Uncharted series, their goal, according to Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, is to be "the European equivalent of that iconic studio."
Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, detailed how this influence shaped Quantum Break and, subsequently, Alan Wake 2. He explicitly stated their aspiration to become the European counterpart to Naughty Dog.
This influence is apparent in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, renowned for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's status as a top European developer.
Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter being one of the most decorated franchises ever), serves as a clear benchmark.
Over a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These improvements include significant optimizations for the PS5 Pro, introducing a "Balanced" graphics option that combines the best aspects of the Performance and Quality modes.
These updates also refined the graphic settings for smoother frame rates and reduced visual noise. In addition to the PS5 Pro enhancements, several minor gameplay bugs, particularly within the Lake House expansion, have been addressed.
