Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Boost Your Chances?

Author : Harper May 16,2025

RAID: Shadow Legends is renowned for its RNG-based system, which can make summoning champions a rollercoaster of excitement and frustration. Going through dozens or even hundreds of pulls without securing a Legendary champion is a common plight among players. To mitigate this, Plarium introduced the "Pity System," but how does it function? Is it effective, and does it truly assist free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players? Let's dive into the details of this system.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is a hidden mechanic designed to boost your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, specifically Epic and Legendary ones, the longer you go without pulling them. In essence, if luck isn't on your side for an extended period, the game will incrementally increase your odds until you finally land a desirable champion. This mechanism aims to prevent those dreaded "dry streaks" where players might use numerous shards without any success. Although Plarium doesn't openly advertise this system within the game, it has been verified by dataminers, developers, and shared player experiences.

RAID: Shadow Legends Pity System Guide

Sacred Shards

- **Base Legendary chance:** 6% per pull.
- **Mercy kicks in:** After 12 pulls without a Legendary.
- After your 12th Sacred pull without a Legendary, each additional pull increases your Legendary odds by 2%.

Here's how it progresses:

  • 13th pull = 8% chance
  • 14th pull = 10% chance
  • 15th pull = 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The effectiveness of the Pity System isn't a straightforward yes or no. While it's not something that helps on a regular basis, as many players have noted that it often kicks in long after they've already pulled a Legendary champion, the system's presence is crucial, especially in a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends.

For free-to-play (F2P) players, the constant struggle of not pulling Legendary champions after extensive grinding and farming can be disheartening. The Pity System is essential in these scenarios, but there's room for improvement. For instance, developers could consider reducing the number of pulls required to trigger the system from 200 to perhaps 150 or 170. Such a change would enable players to save more shards regularly and genuinely feel the benefit of the Pity System.

Enhance your RAID: Shadow Legends experience further by playing on a larger screen using your PC or laptop with BlueStacks. The use of a keyboard and mouse can significantly elevate your gameplay, offering smoother and more precise control.
